Station Caretaker
A professional hunting guide for 8 years in Cape York. Bart has over 20 years’ experience as a zookeeper and tour guide which gives him a passion for our natural environment.
He first came to the Cape in 97 came back as a tour guide in 98 working for Wilderness Challenge mainly doing Cape York camping trips were he first got to meet Theresa and Karen Heinemann at Bramwell Station.
In 2002 him and his wife moved to Cooktown with 2 babies and started "Bart's Bush Adventures". They soon met and became friends with Daniel and Tess Buhmann.
Bart then went onto maintaining public land for a couple of local councils, mowing, garden landscaping spraying and controlling weeds.
When he was asked if he'd be interested in a caretaker role available at Bramwell Station he knew this would be another great chapter in his book of life. Back in the Cape, Palm Cockatoos, hopefully Red Goshawks, huge lightning shows lighting up the night skies. Along with this the opportunity to travel across country and remove the odd feral pig on a recreational basis.
Barts role as caretaker at Bramwell Station has now given him 2 best friends, his dog Chooch and a John Deere zero turn mower.
